Dr Fay Callaghan graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the northeast of England in 2005 and spent 10 years working in various parts of the UK before emigrating to Australia with her husband in 2015. They spent the first five years in Sydney before relocating to Queensland in 2019, and they are very happy to now call Brisbane home together with their son, who was born in 2021.
Dr Callaghan’s main interests in dentistry include cosmetic work such as veneers (composite and ceramic), crowns, and short-term orthodontics (cosmetic braces and clear aligners). She also enjoys restoring worn teeth to give patients improved function and a new smile they can be truly proud of. Patients are often surprised by how painless modern dentistry is these days with all the technology and materials available, making her job even more satisfying.
In addition to her passion in cosmetic dentistry, Dr Callaghan has a keen interest in paediatric dentistry. She engages well with children and firmly believes in encouraging good dental habits from an early age, aiming to make visiting the dentist a fun and positive experience for young patients. Dr Callaghan is committed to continuing professional development and regularly attends courses across both Australia and the UK to advance her knowledge and keep up to date with the latest research and technologies.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Callaghan’s two big passions are travel and food. She loves exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and discovering new restaurants. An avid snowboarder and horse rider, she has travelled to some amazing places around the world. Music is also a significant part of her life, and she plays the violin and piano – the perfect escapism after a hard day’s work.
Dr Callaghan always strives to build a great rapport with her patients, taking time to explain treatments fully and discuss all options available. Her calm and friendly manner helps to quickly put patients at ease, and she regularly receives new patient requests through recommendations from friends and family.
